Ridley Scott’s directorial project, House of Gucci, starring Lady Gaga and Adam Driver in the lead, along with Salma Hayek, Jared Leto, Jeremy Iron and Al Pacino is set to arrive on the big screens this festive season, worldwide.
The House Of Gucci – The Story
To celebrate the brand’s 100 years long legacy and mark in the world of fashion, this movie depicts this dynastic family’s scandalous yet glamourous lives. A biographical drama based on the book The House of Gucci: A Sensational Story of Murder, Madness, Glamour, and Greed by Sara Gay Forden depicts Patrizia Reggiani’s failed marriage to Maurizio Gucci and the series of unfortunate events that play out due to her attempt at being an influential force within this dynastic family, eventually pitting against them.
The film’s arrival is set to be celebrated in one of London’s most luxurious hotels, The Savoy, designed by none other than the Italian brand itself.
Going back to the humble beginnings, a young luggage porter, Guccio Gucci, working at an infamous London hotel, inspired by the guests’ magnificent luggage, clothing and accessories, started his own leather shop, ‘House of Gucci’ in Florence, 1921.
The Savoy Hotel & The World Of Gucci – The Royal Suite
A century later, in the now, this legacy is being honoured in the most commemorative way by The Savoy as its top Royal Suite has been converted into a Gucci Universe, displaying everything Gucci.
Right when you step into the entrance hall, you’d come across a large screen that plays Gucci’s past fashion shows. The VR headset on the coffee table is not just there to welcome you but to guide you along to the room filled with Gucci merchandise.
Stretching across an entire floor, it will take you over 20 seconds to walk from one end of the Suite to the other. Tub chairs and footstools in the sitting rooms with magnificent sofas ornated with Gucci’s throws and pillows adore the space. The dining room is beautified with the botanical print plates in collaboration with Ginori and the silver-plated cloches on tabletops next to the kitchen.
