Further elevating the hotel’s culinary offerings is Ginza’s first natural wine bar, The Roof. This exclusive venue features biodynamic champagnes, rare orange wines, and fizzy bottled cocktails incorporating wines and eaux de vie from local wineries and distilleries. The Lobby Bar, with its gold-coloured bar and ivory fabric armchairs, serves coffee from a local roastery alongside pastries and fresh-pressed juices. Inspired by local produce from small regional farms, the hotel’s modern brasserie offers casual brasserie-inspired menus that evolve throughout the day.

In the heart of Paris, a city synonymous with luxury and elegance, a new chapter in hospitality is being written. Chopard, the renowned luxury jewellery and watchmaker, is set to open its first-ever hotel, 1 Place Vendôme, on November 15. This boutique hotel, nestled in the prestigious Place Vendôme square, is an exceptional addition to Paris’s luxury hotel landscape, a statement of exclusivity and privacy for the ultra-wealthy.

A Historic Mansion Transformed at Place Vendôme Square

Located above the existing Chopard boutique, 1 Place Vendôme is housed in an 18th-century listed building, a six-story mansion that has undergone a four-year overhaul. The transformation, led by acclaimed designer Pierre-Yves Rochon – known for his work on Parisian landmarks like Shangri-La Paris and Four Seasons George V – has turned this historic mansion into a haven of luxury. The hotel features 15 opulent rooms and suites, including ten suites and five rooms, each offering a unique experience of refined luxury.

1 Place Vendôme is more than just a hotel; it’s an exclusive retreat. Catering exclusively to high-end clientele, the hotel’s facilities are open only to staying guests and VIP Chopard clients. This approach to hospitality ensures an atmosphere of discreet luxury, where guests can enjoy their stay with utmost privacy and comfort.

Every aspect of 1 Place Vendôme is designed to provide guests with a personalized and luxurious experience. The hotel offers a butler service, making each stay feel like being in an ultra-premium family residence. The wellness area, featuring a treatment room, sauna, and yoga room, offers a tranquil escape within the bustling city.

One of the hotel’s highlights is the “Winter Garden,” a glass-roofed sitting room illuminated by natural light. This space features a stunning mosaic mural that pays homage to Maison Chopard’s Animal World Collection, depicting an exotic jungle scene with thousands of polished gemstones.

Chopard’s 1 Place Vendôme: Suites, Culinary Delights and Hidden Treasures

The hotel’s culinary offerings are curated by Chef Boris Algarra. Guests can enjoy seasonal cuisine with classic touches at the table d’hôtes. Adding to the allure is a secret Chinese-inspired cigar lounge, cleverly concealed behind a wall of false bookshelves.

Each suite at 1 Place Vendôme is a masterpiece. The Chopard Apartment, spanning 131 square meters, boasts a ceremonial salon with a 5-meter high ceiling overlooking the famous Place Vendôme. The Suite Signature Astronomie, an 88 square meter loft, offers breathtaking views and a romantic green terrace. The Suite Signature Rubis, a 73 square meter suite, features exposed wooden beams and a herringbone parquet, creating a country house atmosphere in the heart of Paris.

1 Place Vendôme joins the ranks of luxury fashion brands venturing into hospitality, such as Audemars Piguet’s Hôtel des Horlogers and Bulgari’s hotels in Paris and Rome. However, Chopard’s approach stands out for its focus on privacy and exclusivity, catering to a clientele that seeks more than just luxury – they seek an experience that’s both unique and personal.

Chopard’s 1 Place Vendôme is a new destination for luxury. With its blend of historic charm, modern elegance, and unparalleled service, it’s set to become a landmark for those who seek the finest in luxury hospitality. ◼

Le Grand Mazarin: Artistic Flourishes at Every Turn

The hotel’s design philosophy is a masterclass in attention to detail. Nearly 500 artworks grace its premises, each carefully curated to enhance the guest experience. From contemporary frescoes to intricate lighting fixtures, art isn’t just decoration here; it’s an intrinsic part of the ambience.

Esteemed designer Martin Brudnizki, founder of MBDS Design Studio in London, has infused the 50 rooms and 11 suites with a unique aesthetic that’s both intimate and flamboyant. Collaborations with renowned French artisans have resulted in bespoke pieces that exude luxury and craftsmanship. These artisans still work with the same traditional handmade methods honed by previous generations: Le Grand Mazarin has worked with Maison Pierre Frey for fabrics, Maison Lucien Gau on bronzeworks, Henryrot & Cie for furniture, Art de Lys for tapestry canopies, Pinton 1867 for rugs and Ateliers Gohard for paintings.

Sydney, a city famous for its iconic landmarks such as the Opera House and the sprawling Harbour Bridge, is about to welcome a new visual marvel to its skyline: W Sydney. Located in the bustling Darling Harbour, this hotel promises to be more than just a place to stay; it’s set to be a design-led journey waiting to be experienced.

W Sydney emerges not merely as another architectural entity but as an emblematic beacon in Sydney’s cityscape. Its distinctive curved edifice rivals the architectural prowess of the iconic Opera House and redefines the visual narrative of Sydney’s waterfront. Far from being a mere aesthetic marvel, this avant-garde design underscores W Sydney’s unwavering dedication to innovation and distinction.

W Sydney: Rooms That Tell A Story

Inside, the hotel continues its design-led journey. With 588 guestrooms, including 162 suites, guests are in for a treat. Drawing inspiration from its harbourside location and the nearby beaches, the rooms exude a marine-chic vibe with a nautical white and navy-blue palette. The bathrooms, rendered in a deep oceanic blue, are a nod to the surrounding waters, while walk-in wardrobes surprise guests with a burst of graphic, inflorescent red and pink Waratah flowers, adding a playful touch.

W Sydney extends beyond mere accommodation; it offers a gateway to the culinary delights of Darling Harbour. Leading this adventure at BTWN is Head Chef Chris Dodd, who crafts menus that hero the produce of New South Wales. For those with a sweet tooth, 2AM: dessert bar, in collaboration with Singaporean dessert specialist Janice Wong, promises to be a late-night hotspot. And for those looking to unwind with a view, 29/30 offers a two-level bar experience with uninterrupted harbour vistas.
