Sentosa, Singapore’s local island escape, will soon have a new attraction perfect for an evening visit. Central Beach Bazaar, opening in September 2022 and located on Siloso Beach next to the Beach Station, will consist of the Sentosa SkyJet, an 80m tall fountain, and the Sentosa Musical Fountain, both perfect additions to an already beautiful island.
The new Sentosa Musical Fountain is a reimagined and scaled-down version of the musical fountain that was very popular in Sentosa back in the 1980s and a major tourist draw during its 25 years of performance. The synchronised water dance fountain will have an impressive seating capacity of 2,750 people, with two 5-minute water shows per hour from 11 am to 4.30 pm. The first show will play nostalgic easy-listening melodies from the 90s, while the second show will play local, national songs.
The Sentosa Musical Fountain will share the same setting as ‘Wings of Time’, a colourful outdoor night show that paints a story of discovery via 3D projection mapping, lasers, robotic water fountains, waterjets, and pyrotechnics. The tickets for ‘Wings of Time’ are priced at $18 per seat, with show timings of once a day at 7.30 pm on weekdays and twice a day on weekends at 7.30 pm and 8.30 pm.
The Sentosa Skyjet, Sentosa’s new visual landmark, will be a towering 80m-high fountain, the tallest in Southeast Asia and a stunning sight to behold both during the day and night. The powerful yet graceful stream of water will be illuminated after sundown, making it a beautiful focal point for evening strolls and an essential landmark of any Sentosa visit. The Sentosa Skyjet is similar to the Jet D’Eau in Geneva, which shoots water 140m into the air.
The Central Beach Bazaar will be a junction for street food lovers, with eight hipster-styled eclectic food kiosks lined up along the new International Food Street. The kiosks will take the form of Memphis-style food trucks, kombi vans and shipping containers and will offer a variety of street foods from all over the world. So whether you’re in the mood for some grab-and-go Mexican street tacos or Japanese yakitori, you’ll be able to find it at the Central Beach Bazaar. These hipster-style street food formats are now highly popular in other cities as well, including Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Dubai.
Other major attractions in Sentosa include the Singapore Cable Car with six stations, SkyHelix Sentosa, iFly Sentosa, Madame Tussauds Singapore, Sentosa 4D AdventureLand, Resort World Sentosa, Universal Studios Singapore, Adventure Cove Waterpark, S.E.A Aquarium and ONE°15 Marina Sentosa Cove.
